Shiva, a provider of IT solutions, announced today that Shiva and its teaming partner QSSI, Inc., has been awarded HUD, PIH-Real Estate Assessment Center (REAC) Inventory Management System (IMS) contract. Shiva is a subcontract to QSSI on this HUD PIH initiative.
The United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is the Federal Agency responsible for providing resources for empowering local governments, businesses, and organizations to build stronger communities. The aim of the HUD’s, Office of Public and Indian Housing (PIH) is to ensure safe, decent, and affordable housing; create opportunities for residents' self-sufficiency and economic independence; and assure fiscal integrity by all program participants. PIH allocates funding to locally chartered Public Housing Authorities (PHAs), which provide housing or rental subsidies to low-income families. The public housing and section 8 rental assistance programs that PIH provides support the housing needs of approximately 3.2 million low-income families nationwide.
Shiva will be responsible for supporting new business functionality, leading/managing new project initiatives, and providing overall maintenance and support for one of HUD’s mission critical systems; the Inventory Management System (IMS). The environment includes, but is not limited to, J2EE/Java, Sun One Application Server, ASP, IIS, and Microsoft SQL Database. Shiva and its prime contractor provide personnel, supplies, and equipment necessary to assist the PIH in accomplishing program goals and objectives.
Our team will provide analytical and technical support to HUD PIH including:
- Plan, implement, and maintain each PIH system upgrade and releases
- Better project management of key initiatives
- Operation and maintenance of all phases of the System/Software lifecycle
Shiva will deliver these services in accordance with the highest technical and quality standards consistent with industry best practices.
