Shiva announced today that it has received positive feedback from USDA FNS for commercial services pertaining to Consulting Services for State Agency Systems (COSSAS). The FNS letter states: “We have evaluated the capabilities statement and supplementary information your firm provided, and our perception of your firm’s viability to successfully perform the efforts outlined in the RFI is good. If your firm holds a GSA IT-70 schedule, or has partnered with another firm who meets this qualification, you would be welcome to submit a proposal to any upcoming FNS solicitation for these services.”
FNS administers the nutrition assistance programs of the USDA. The mission of FNS is to provide children and needy families better access to food and a more healthful diet through its food assistance programs and comprehensive nutrition education efforts. FNS helps nearly one in five people. The purpose of this procurement is for Consulting Services to provide technical advice to FNS and State agencies in support of information systems used to determine program eligibility and issue program benefits for two FNS programs: the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC).
With this notification, Shiva is eligible to submit proposals to any upcoming FNS’ solicitation related to COSSAS. After passing the screening and application process, Shiva will then bid against other eligible contractors for mini-contracts, or ‘task orders’ within FNS to provide technical expertise in any of the following three areas: Data Analysis, Technical Writing, and Technical Support.
